Rainbow Hearth is very welcoming when it comes to pets. In fact, there are several resident pets onsite, both cats and dogs. Our pet friendly bed and breakfast offers a unique opportunity for pet owners to share their adventures with their best friend. You can actually save money by bringing your well-behaved furry companion vs. boarding them while you are away.

We welcome pets at $13 per day, per pet.

Besides lounging with you in your room and on your deck, there are plenty of activities to enjoy with your pet, including walking, hiking, swimming, and enjoying the shoreline.

However, we do have rules to ensure the safety of not only you and your pet, but our guests and staff as well. It is important that you familiarize yourself with all of these rules and abide by them. If you are unable to do so, we reserve the right to rescind your reservation without a refund.

Rules for Our Pet Guests and Their Owners

Our Pet Rules are for the safety of all that visit and work at Rainbow Hearth. Should you have questions or concerns, simply Contact Us.

Pets must be on a leash while on the main grounds. This is for the safety and enjoyment of all guests, human and animal.
Pets that are trained by vocal command may be off leash once away from the main lodging area or along Lake Buchanan. However, it is important to note that many wild animals roam this land. This may cause some animals to give chase and get lost. Keep this in mind when deciding if your pet is safe to be off leash.
Pet owners must pick up after their pets waste. There is no exception to this rule. If you forget baggies to clean up after them, please ask us and we will provide you with bags to clean up and dispose of waste.
For the enjoyment of future guests, pets are not allowed on the furniture or beds. Please bring your own pet beds and/or blankets that your pets may sleep on during your stay.
Pets are not allowed in the dining area. Not everyone loves animals and some people are allergic to them. So the dining area is off limits to pets to ensure that all guests have an enjoyable dining experience. You may leave your pet in your suite while dining, or you can eat on the outdoor picnic tables with your pet.

 Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We have visited Rainbow Hearth 3 times since 2022 and we will be coming back as often as we can. Mariah is amazing and provides the space and to rest, relax and unwind from busy schedules. We highly recommend a massage and staying at least three days to really absorb the full benefits of being nourished and rested. I am gluten free and non dairy and I have not had any issues with the food Mariah prepares because she personally takes an individual interest in each guest’s needs. It is such a comfort to know that I can eat and NOT have any digestive issues while I rest. Another plus is we are able to bring our dogs instead of having to board them or find pet care. Our dogs are very well behaved and they are a joy to have with us. I would recommend finding other plans for your pups if they are lively or not well trained because this is a place for rest and not dog training. The other guests will thank you for keeping this a peaceful location as it is intended to be. We also got to snuggle with Mariah’s sweet pup Bella, who is just a lovely little soul that just adds to the charm of Rainbow Hearth.

 Verified Amazing!!! This place is a hidden gem. So peaceful and a great place to get away from the city. I traveled there alone with my dog and it was the perfect stay for a couple days. Mariah was a wonderful host and the meals were amazing. Will definitely be back

Rainbow is for stepping out of the stresses of everyday life and entering into a healing space that is quiet and allows for connection to Nature, yourself and/or a partner or friend(s). I’ve been in all 5 rooms. There are no TVs, just beautiful views from the decks of each cottage or suite. I Love the fact that there are limited suites as it creates a much more intimate experience. I like that I can connect w other guests if I choose or I can be secluded if I desire time for contemplation and reflection. There are shaded hiking trails, free growing vegetation and fruit trees bearing fruit in Spring! A true homage to re-wilding that is so rare to see these days. Beautiful views of Lake Buchanan can be seen from the top of Medicine Rock. A magical space for sure. The rooms are clean, comfortable and the food is healthy and delicious. It’s also pet friendly, so that is a huge bonus!

I stayed with a friend in Sky Loft and we also have stayed in the Garden Cottage on a previous occasion. The food prepared by Mariah, the owner is fresh and delicious.  Everyone loves the freshly-grown sprout salads. My friend and I both scheduled massages which were fabulous, and we took advantage of the hot tub both evenings! Some of the rooms at Rainbow Hearth are also dog-friendly, and my dog, Fred, also had a fun time. He loved being able to sniff around off-leash down near the lake and on the trail at the top of the ridge. We can't wait to go back!!

 Verified We spent 2 nights in the Sky Loft and the accommodations were perfect. The meals were filling, healthy and delicious. Everyone was friendly and over the top helpful. We did the massages and they were wonderful as well. We plan to make this resort one of our regular weekend go to spots. Loved the peace and quite and serene setting. And bonus for us, it's dog friendly. If you are looking for a place to relax, unplug and just chill, this is it. Take a walk in the woods or down to the lake. Bring a book. Enjoy the fresh air.  Verified Just what we wanted My wife and I had been looking for dog friendly places to take a few days off and decided to give Rainbow Hearth a try. We took our two Golden Retrievers and booked the Tree Yurt for three nights. We had a wonderful time and what a relaxing vacation for all of us. Everyone was so nice and Rainbow Hearth is such a pleasant environment. We spent our time hiking, playing at the lake, relaxing on the balcony, and enjoying the beautiful environment. Rainbow Hearth is very well taken care of and designed to let one relax in a low key environment. The meals are nutritious and tasty. They are designed to provide a fresh, wholesome diet to aid your relaxation. The Tree Yurt is a real treat and provided us a private getaway that was just perfect. The Yurt sits up on the side of a hill and you are surrounded by flowering trees. We loved it and will return. Rainbow Hearth features so many great views of the lake and plenty of room for the guests to roam and enjoy nature. There are a number of interesting sights to see in the area on easy day trips. Mariah and the staff at Rainbow Hearth are very helpful, flexible and obviously their hearts are in their work. It's a well cared for facility that is a wonderful retreat.

 Verified Perfect getaway! Spending my birthday weekend at Rainbow Hearth with my friend and my doggy Bella, was the best thing ever! I've been looking for the perfect place to relax and rejuvenate in a natural setting and have finally found my paradise. Mariah and staff couldn't be more welcoming and accomodating - the perfect hosts! The food was amazing, too - the best natural, organic, colorful and delicious meals I've had in a while. The grounds are enchanting with areas to sit, relax, enjoy the view, meditate or watch the birds are everywhere. You feel like you're a million miles away from everyone and yet you're so close you don't have to drive forever to get there. Thank you Mariah for creating this beautiful sanctuary!

 Verified My husband and I visited Rainbow Hearth to celebrate our wedding anniversary -- and to just get the hell out of town. It was well worth the 4 hours that it took to get there. We got the couples package, which included our meals and a bodywork session for each of us. If you visit Rainbow Hearth you NEED to schedule a bodywork session with Mariah. This isn't just a massage. It changes your life. Rainbow Hearth was beautiful and welcoming and just perfect. And it's pet friendly!! Our dogs had a blast. I can't wait to visit again.
