Medicine Rock
Reflection, Prayers & Healing
Thunder Ridge at Rainbow Hearth Sanctuary & Retreat was used by indigenous people as a ceremonial site.
A sophisticated seventh-generation medicine woman described the ridge as “the most energetically supportive place” she has ever experienced – second only to the Chartres Cathedral in France. Many people who have visited, report life-changing insights.
Typically, the usual procedure is for visitors to invoke a prayer for insight about some aspect of their life. The response is different for everyone.
Religious preference should not be an issue, there is no specific affiliation. Spiritual leaders from a variety of religions have visited this sacred place. This includes ministers, priests, nuns, medicine people, shamans, and Buddhist teachers.
Furthermore, you will find it to be a place of peace, harmony, and healing. You are invited to spend as much time as you would like, during your stay at Rainbow.
Richard Gerstner
Spirit Elder
Richard was one of the founding caretakers of Rainbow Hearth. One of Richard’s passions was the deep healing work resulting from people doing their personal prayer walks at the Medicine Rock.
Since Richard’s passing in February 2007, many individuals visiting Medicine Rock have felt the wise and gentle touch of his spirit. Several intuitive individuals have reported that Richard has a place on a council of Spirit Elders, here, providing protection and guidance to those who come here.

Answered Prayers
Thoughts About Prayer
Prayer is a communication with a Higher Power, however we individually and personally name or define God, in a manner that is appropriate for us and for our personal beliefs.
Prayers at Medicine Rock are your prayers and usually contain a request for answers and insights to be received. Your prayers are to God, not to Medicine Rock. Medicine Rock is not the source of the information! The gift of answered prayers and insights received, is a beautiful mystery. However, we do know that people consistently get meaningful answers and insights here.
Furthermore, we sense that the respect given to this site and the ceremonies performed here, over several centuries, has activated a sacred space or Earth power spot.
